The Ask
The Task
Our job was to create annual reports that people might actually want to read. That meant making them clear, engaging, and visually appealing, while still meeting all the regulatory requirements.
We focused on bringing structure and clarity to the numbers, then used storytelling and design to highlight the people and projects behind the performance to connect the financials with the real-world impact Scanpower delivers in the community.
The End Game
The first report focused on people from those who keep the power on, the community Scanpower is part of (and owned by), to the groups they support through sponsorship. It brought the human side of the business to the fore, showing that their impact extends well beyond the power lines.
Each year since, we’ve carried that storytelling thread through, pairing it with thoughtful design to ensure the most important information stands out and is easy to find.
The Results
The response spoke for itself. After the success of the first report, Scanpower came back for more.
The reports may not be page-turners in the traditional sense, but website downloads show they’ve found their audience. When annual reporting is done well, it becomes more than a compliance exercise, it’s an expression of trust, transparency, and connection.
